Can someone please press pause?

Carson is standing all by himself. These past few weeks have been really hard for me. Besides the fact that his sleep has taken a turn for the worse (he was awake from 1:30-5 am last night!!! How does he do it??? And why??????) making me lose most of sanity, I just can't believe how much he is changing. He is becoming so independent. He goes after what he wants, fights to feed himself, and seriously would change his own diaper if he could just figure it out.
Adam is loving it all-minus the whole sleep thing. He wasn't really into snuggle time so he is loving that Carson "can do fun tricks" now. Yesterday I heard Adam ask Carson if he wanted to wrestle and then took him to the bed and body slammed him.  Haha I'm serious. Carson loved it.

We got to go to Dinisha's and Brian's baby shower this weekend. It was so much fun. Brian loved all the pink and bows (obviously). We can't wait for their baby girl to make her big entrance!
Four lovely generations.
The Grandmas and the grandkids. Ben, Nana, Carson, Denise, and Olivia.
I am in love with this sweet face.
Notice the curl.
Carson is off his belly! He is doing a monkey crawl now...straight out of the zoo. Adam thinks it looks more like a crab. You decide.

The day is here.

The dreaded day (which I spoke of a couple of posts ago) arrived a few days ago. I put Carson down for his afternoon nap and after I hear him making play noises, I decide to go and check on him only to find this:
How dare he!

Goodbye car.

Before Christmas, Adam was in an accident. Here is a picture of our car at the tow lot. It is completely totaled. The airbags went off and everything but, Adam is a blessed man and left the scene with only a few scratches on his arms. We are very thankful that Adam wasn't hurt and that Carson and I weren't in the car (I have a deep fear of accidents). After much debate and a month later, the insurance of the other vehicle has decided that they are fully liable...we are so, so thankful! Now that the stress of being liable is off our shoulders we can appreciate the awesomeness of a seriously wrecked car.

My 9 month old little boy.

Today Carson turned 9 months. I can't believe it. He has changed so much since birth. He is learning more each day, in fact, he learned several new "tricks" in the past two weeks. I realize this post is typically done at a year but, I just couldn't help myself...here is the recap of Carson's sweet life:

Shortly after Carson was born. I fell in love instantly.
Carson on his birthday. He was so perfect (minus the golf ball coming out the top of his head from having to be vacuumed out-the cap hides it well).
First days at home.
Becoming just a tad more alert.
1 month.
2 months.
3 months.
4 months.
5 months.
6 months.
7 months.
8 months.

Within just a few weeks:
Carson has learned to roll over
Army crawl
He is pulling up on everything
He can go from being on his belly to sitting up (which, by the way, is awful. He screams now in the middle of the night because he sits himself up and can't figure out how to lay himself back down-I am dreading the day he realizes he can pull up on his crib)
He is crawling a little bit more on his knees
He will sometimes stand by himself for a couple of seconds
He took a few steps while holding on to the couch
And he does a weird move where he straigtens his legs, puts his butt in the air, and attempts to stand up but, has yet to succeed.
Oh and he is getting better with a sippy cup

Carson is a pretty little guy, weighing about 16.5 lbs, but, he eats like a man. He loves eating solids and is starting to perfer feeding himself finger foods. He is not really interested in nursing but, I force him into it a few times a day so that he is getting at least some milk. Carson is becoming more intersting each day and more particular also. He is a real joy to have around! Just three more months till my lil' squirt is 1 year old!

New Years, Adam's birthday, and such.

Grandma Wallace and Carson took a little nap together. Carson has started to be really cuddly again. I love it.
Adam and Carson the morning of Adam's birthday. Adam's birthday was on the 6th. I should have posted about his birthday then but, he knows I love him. Happy birthday, babe!
Sweet smiles from baby Carson.
This picture is just a gift to Erica from Tracy and I. We took it just for you.  You know you love it.
Graham would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year but, he is a little busy at the moment.
Chowing down on New Year's Eve. Tracy, Elliot, Grandpa Wallace, and Adam.

Carson and I resting on New Year's Eve.

Now we are a bit more alert for the picture. Don't mind my double chin.

Carson and Graham were doing a stare down.

Here is Carson playing in his new car from Grandma Rogers. He loves it. I love the part where he is trying to make it move. Enjoy!
