Trains and Clifford

Last week, Carson and I hit the jack pot in fun. We went to this tiny shopping area that turned out to be mostly for kids. Carson couldn't stay focused on anything for more than 30 seconds because he was so excited. There was a giant Crayola factory and diner that I think I will take him to next time, cute places to eat, candy shops, and toy stores.
We went to the coolest place for lunch. There was a train outside the diner that Carson was thrilled to see so we decided to go inside to the diner. They gave Carson a cute conductor hat and a train drove all around the restaurant. The coolest part was that another train would travel carrying your food and dump it at your table. There were lots of shrills of excitement.
Carson was so distracted that he didn't even realize that he was eating like a beast. The food was alright, but the experience was a blast.
Next, we saw a free 'Clifford The Big Red Dog' exhibit. Carson ran inside and just stared at Clifford saying, "woah." There were play stations and activities and all of the children were going nuts, including Carson.
Carson, driving the giant bones into the dog bowl.
There was a pretend boat that Carson loved. He is obsessed with driving. He went over to it, looked around, and then pulled a chair from another station into the boat so it felt more like driving a car. He is so clever.

Here is a little more information about K.I.D.S:

Kolcraft has partnered with K.I.D.S. (Kids In Distressed Situations); an organization that brings hope and self-esteem to children in need and their families by providing needed products such as crib mattresses, bassinets, strollers and more.

Since 1985 K.I.D.S. has reached out to more than 64 million children in need by distributing more than a half billion dollars worth of new merchandise. These children are in dire situations because they are victims of domestic abuse, natural disasters, homelessness, serious illness, or their parents are incarcerated. K.I.D.S. also serves military families who are suffering financial hardship while a loved one is deployed.

Hey baby.

I am a natural at being negative. Aren't you?
I like to think I am not the only one who has to work hard to stay positive and happy.
I had a real hard time with my pregnancy with Carson. I was miserable. Being pregnant is hard. This time around, I am determined to enjoy or at least try to enjoy each bit. Having Carson around makes everything surprisingly easy. I am able to roll out of bed each morning when I hear his sweet voice calling out to me even though I hardly slept that night, I eat at normal hours because he happens to get hungry the exact same time the baby within gets hungry, he loves being outside so every day I have a reason to enjoy some fresh air and usually even get some much needed exercise, and best of all...he gives me the cutest kisses and hugs and actually asks to snuggle with me. Now, he even offers and shoves his paci into my fat gut (already sharing with his sibling). He is such a sweet boy and he makes me so happy.
I will be 17 weeks along on Wednesday. I started showing way earlier this time around. I started feeling little movements a couple days ago. Adam doesn't like me to tell him when the baby is moving because he gets real jealous. He can't wait to feel the baby kick. He loves it. You probably didn't know that Adam is a baby man, but privately he really is. We can't wait for this baby to get here and we aren't even half way done! Keep on cookin'!

Oh. And no pictures of our place yet. I am waiting till Adam gets a few paychecks so I can buy the things we need for each room to be complete, then I'll post.

Welcome to Missouri! (a novel)

First things first, we have safely made it to Blue Springs, MO...well, kind of. Adam had a flat tire in our moving truck on the way here. I was so happy that my dad was with him in our car because they ended up having to wait over an hour for someone to come help. Both my dad and Adam developed a serious man crush on "their hero." Apparently, he was beautiful, was graceful, had huge muscles, and banged the tire in with his head. I had to hear about this guy over and over until it became quite ridiculous. They even snuck pictures of their man. I personally was not that in to him, but I guess guys will like guys...
Carson and I were able to fly instead since I get super car sick and Carson is an unpleasant passenger. Carson did decent (everyone was surprisingly really considerate and sweet to Carson despite a few tantrums. One lady even called him "sexy." Haha.), but was a little nervous when the turbulence got really bad. He grabbed my hand and pulled it into his chest. We seriously like crash landed. There was no smooth landing, just a hard fall. There was gasping and screaming. Everyone was wondering what had happened and if we had really just crash landed. Our pilot got on the intercom with a cheerful, "Welcome to Kansas City," without any explanation or apology. After we had exited the plane, I heard two different people talking about how they were injured. My neck and shoulders were really sore the next day. It felt similar to being in a serious car crash. Carson didn't sleep that night so I imagined he felt the same way.
I saw our townhome for the first time on the day we arrived. Adam did such a great job and knew exactly what I would love. It is adorable! Some of my favorite things that I am still dying over is a pop out window with seating (Carson's favorite place to hang), a nook in the hall big enough for a small desk for me to scrapbook, a chair in the master shower for shaving legs, and our cute patio and grassy area for Carson to run wild. He has LOVED having outdoor space. He plays in his water table, drives around in his ATV, plays with his soccer ball, and literally will just run circles around our townhome. We are having so much fun! I told Adam that it feels like being on vacation here because it is shockingly beautiful. We live 5 minutes from the lake and went yesterday to lay out and play, we walked to a park today, and have been enjoying way too much ice cream and custard. Vacation, I tell ya. Of course, Adam will start work on Monday so his vacation is coming to an end. Naturally, we desperately miss our family and friends and cannot wait to see everyone (visitors always welcome here! I'm keeping a guest bedroom available at all times!), but we have found nice distractions. All is well.
And P.S...We owe the biggest thanks to Tracy, my mom, Adam's mom, and Angie who worked like insane people with me to get our apartment looking brand new before we left. I will love you all forever! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!
