Since I don't have a camera, I started taking all my pictures with my phone. Then, my phone died. I'm really smart.
I feel terrible that I haven't documented very much of Allie's life. I want to remember everything, but I always forget to take pictures or to blog about her happenings. I haven't even started a baby book for her! I'm going to try and do better...once I get a new camera, that is.
So for now, here is a picture-less summary of what has been going on:
*At Allie's 6 month doctor appointment, she was nearly 18 pounds (Carson was 18 lbs at his one year check up!!) in the 85 percentile, had grown 3 inches in 2 months putting her off the charts, and had a super giant head that they remeasured 3 times to make sure they had it right since it was wayyyy off the charts. The doctor was a little concerned about her head being so big and her soft spot closing up so early, but she just recommended we mention it at her 9 month check up.
They also told us she had an ear infection and another forming in her other ear. I had no idea! She was not fussy at all! While this past month she has definitely developed opinions and wants, she remains the sweetest baby ever.
She is still learning how to sit up, but is getting much better. I blame it on her giant head. She is a great roller and grabs at everything she wants.
*Carson is still his crazy self. We fight often about his screaming, not wanting to eat, and him getting out of bed about 20 times before he ever goes to sleep. Typical 3 year old stuff, I suppose. He really, really loves playing with other kids. I think he plays better with girls, but he always prefers his cousin, Graham, even though they usually fight over everything.
Carson is still into cuddling. He always tries to cuddle Allie. If he isn't right on top of her, she usually loves it and will giggle for Carson more than anyone else.
I have been trying to give Carson special time when Allie is asleep. Last night he got to stay up with Adam and I and watch Glee. He really likes the music. He had his arms wrapped around me the whole time with his head on my shoulder. I love that sweet boy.
In seriously big news....Carson is POTTY TRAINED!!! Woop, woop! He has done so well. He hasn't had an accident during the day in over a week (it has only been a few weeks since we started). He peed the bed 3 nights in a row so we decided to put him in a diaper at night. He woke up dry the next 2 mornings so we took the diaper off and he hasn't peed in his bed for 2 nights. I hope he keeps it up. I am so proud of him.
*AND more big news, which most of you already know, Adam got a job at Emory University Hospital in Georgia!! We moved a few weeks ago. We were really lucky to find a house for rent from a couple in our current ward. I really love it. We are close to Stone Mountain and have been enjoying lots of outings there.
We are so thankful for the opportunities that were presented to us in Missouri. We know we were meant to be there. We feel so blessed that Adam was given that job. Without it, I have no idea what we would have done without insurance and me having to spend so much time in the hospital.
I am sad to have left behind friends. There were a few people who I am positive would have become my best friends. Coincidentally, there was a family in our Blue Springs ward that my parents knew when we lived in California. They felt like family and I am going to miss them. Also, there was a couple who I knew while I was at school in Rexburg. They were still dating at the time and I had went on a few group dates with them. The Redds did so much for us while we were there. From Steve bringing us sacrament at the hospital to always inviting Adam to play football and Kristen for being a shoulder for me to cry on to watching Carson and to always making me feel like a friend. Kristen is one of those people I wish I could have packed up and taken her with me.
With all that being said, we are really happy to be home. We are loving seeing our friends and family. Carson is in Grandma heaven.
